VP8 Alumni Association Reunion, Charleston, SC, Oct. 6-9. 2014.
Welcome aboard is on Oct. 6, Tour of Harbor on Carolina Belle and Tour of Patriot's Point on Oct 7 & 8, Banquet on Thurs. Oct. 9. Your registration form will be in the January, 2014, newsletter. Set these dates aside. If we don't start having better attendance at our reunions, we may have to discontinue having them. Those of you who have set up reunions know how much work and time it takes to make one successful, so let's talk this one up. Please make an effort to attend, especially if you live within a day's driving distance of Charleston. There are quite a few of you in GA, FL, NC,& VA who could make the trip in one day.
Reunion Hotel Registration Information for Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview. Method: Individuals will call the hotel directly for reservations. Call the toll free reservation number 1-800~766~4451 and ask for the Patrol Squadron Eight Alumni Association group block. ADA Accessible Rooms Available ~ please ask your Sales Manager for more information. Cut-off date for registration at the hotel is September 8th, 2014. Monday Evening, October 6th ~ Thursday Evening, October 9th, 2014, rates are as follows: King Standard $94.00/Water View $104.. Double~Double Standard $94.00/Water View $104.(All Plus tax of course.) If you want to come in on Sunday, you can get the room at the same rate, but the rate is higher for Friday & Saturday evening. (A lower rate was not available.) THE ABOVE RATES INCLUDE TWO FULL HOT BREAKFAST BUFFETS PER ROOM/DAY (GRATUITY NOT INCLUDED).
Bill Stewart had stated at the last reunion that his health was not good and he did not know how much longer he could keep the job of treasurer, so in the last newsletter, we put out a call. If you will notice at the top of the page, Santo Adams has stepped up to the plate and taken over the job. ('Scuse the analogy--been watching baseball!)
